19 of The Best Places to go Camping in Louisiana

Whether you live in Louisiana, or plan to visit soon, one of my favorite things about the state is, surprisingly not the delicious/diverse cuisine, but its variety of gorgeous campgrounds.

If you want to spend some quality time with the family or just explore the outdoors on your own, camping is one of the best (and most affordable) summer activities.

Louisiana is one of the best states for camping and outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, boating, hunting, and more.

Here Are 19 Of The Best Places To Go Camping In Louisiana:

1. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Campground

At the top of our best camping in Louisiana picks you have Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Campground. Located in Robert, Louisiana, this serene camp-resort brings Jellystone Park — the fictitious national park from the beloved Hanna-Barbera cartoon, Yogi Bear — to life.

In addition to being close to both New Orleans and Baton Rouge, the camp-resort offers 10 different cabin and lodging options, specialty seasonal pricing, and a wide variety of campsites for tents and RVs.

If you’re looking for recreational activities, look no further. Jellystone Campground offers everything from canoe and kayak rentals, to mini-golf, fishing, and swimming pools.

Finally, the resort holds a slew of weekly events and specials to enhance your vacation and ensure you and the whole family enjoy yourselves, no matter if you want to have fun or simply relax.

If you want more information, or want to know if a specific campground is still open, I recommend contacting the campground directly. With a quick Google search you should be able to find the proper contact information.

I can't believe "Gator Grounds" in Bunkie, Louisiana isn't on here. In the outdoor Waterpark, there's 5 water slides, 3 swimming pools a lazy river and a hot tub. In the indoor waterpark, there's 1 water slide, 2 swimming pools, a hot tub and a splash pad with a mini water slide. Also on site are 2 fishing ponds, basketball court, playground, volleyball, court, zip line obstacle course and many R.V sites with electricity and water hook ups for $65-$75 dollars a night depending whether you choose a back in or pull thru. This is hands down my favorite place and I've been to more than half of this list!!
