Camping No Bake Granola Bars Recipe

The complete recipe is at the bottom of the post.

Our family is always searching for a great snack that isn’t full of garbage that we can feed to our 5 kids. With this no bake granola bar recipe, we have not only found that but also a snack that packs a ton of energy that is great to bring along camping.

These granola bars have become a family favorite to prepare an evening or two before we head out on our trips, our only problem is trying to have any left by the time we get to our campsite!

What you will need…

First, you will want to mix the Rice Krispies, Old Fashion Oats, Wheat Germ and the Flax Seed into a big bowl.

A little mess…

Let’s try that again…

The helpers can hardly wait to bite into a fresh granola bar. It is one of their top favorite homemade snacks. They are easy to pack up and take on any camping trip or throw them into your backpack for a energy boost while hiking.

Watch out for fingers…

Next, you will want to melt Butter, Brown Sugar and the Honey in a saucepan on medium heat. After a few minutes reduce the heat and stir in the Vanilla. Mix well for a couple more minutes. We decided to add a touch of Peanut Butter to our bars this time, but you don’t have to if you have a non-nut family member. Pour it all over the dry ingredients and stir it up!

Press firmly into a buttered 9×9 pan. We top our finished treat with some more chocolate chips.

Make sure you cut the bars before they get a chance to cool down. The longer they sit the harder they get!

Store in a room temperature airtight container and try not to eat them all in one seating.

So yummy! I added some peanuts and peanut butter and Corn Chex in place of the Rice Krispies. Just made these for our family's week long camping trip in the White Mountains, Franconia Notch!
